I woke up this morning thinking it was about time I took control. There seems to be a real proliferation of websites out there which I had absolutely nothing to do with... Websites that take total liberty with my life, sometimes telling a little bit of the truth and sometimes broadcasting some of the most ridiculous things. Sure, it's all fodder for a book, but I'm not just a can of garbanzo beans waiting to be exploited, a vegetable amongst the others in a heap. Okay, I am just a speck in the universe, but I have feelings, pride, ethics, a private world and, yes, ego. So, I said to myself, 'Take charge. Be a cyberspace carpenter! Build your own website, set the record straight!' In essence, I am opening a window into my life so I can let you in, share my space on the planet, and at the same time send signals right back out to the universe so maybe others will find them - my notes passed in cyber class, my messages in virtual bottles in the vast
computer-generated sea. I will share bits of my real life, the life where I bake tarts and my daughter writes poetry and my other daughter
thinks she's a Neanderthal, on occasion.
In other words, life beyond Gollywood, where leaves turn
color in autumn and you can actually smell them after the
rain and the rain comes out of real clouds and a dog needs
to be walked down a street where neighbors say hello and a
catbox needs to be cleaned and snow needs to be shoveled...
This is what I'm thinking...
