28 October 2010 - Time to get a little wild; Pagan, even! All those autumn leaves. It's almost Halloween. Go collect them by the armload and throw them in the corners of your entry hall, against the coat rack, under the telephone table as though they blew in by themselves. Don't just carve pumpkins. Go for all the gourds, even a turnip or rutabaga. Their colours are so wonderful. Make Pumpkin Dill soup. Make your own creme fraiche to dollop on top. I'll give you the recipes. Dig through the closets for all the old clothes that you haven't worn for a year. Make a scarecrow couple or family. Put them on the swinging chair or bench on the porch. After Halloween, give the clothes to a charitable organization.
